Gideon Rose

GIDEON ROSE is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. He was Editor of Foreign Affairs from 2010 to 2021 and served as the magazine's Managing Editor from 2000 to 2010. During the Clinton administration, he served as Associate Director for Near East and South Asian Affairs on the staff of the National Security Council. He has taught American foreign policy at Princeton and Columbia and is the author of How Wars End.
